Real Betis centre-back Diego Llorente could be bann for at least four games after criticising the referee during the 1-0 derby defeat to Sevilla.
Real Betis coach Manuel Luis Pellegrini is facing a centre-back crisis if Diego Llorente is hand a four-game ban for criticising a referee, Ufabet reported on Monday.
Betis are dealing with the fallout from Sunday’s El Gran Derbi defeat at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. Not only was it a terrible result for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, but there could also be further ramifications.
Llorente played the full 90 minutes of the 1-0 derby defeat to Sevilla without receiving a yellow card, but the Committee of Game Referees (CTA) reported Llorente to the Royal Spanish Football Federation after the 31-year-old Real Betis centre-back made comments about referee Juan Martínez Munueira, who awarded Sevilla a penalty which Dodi Lukebakio converted to decide the game.
If the Spanish Football Federation finds Llorente guilty of the charge, it could see the 31-year-old centre-back banned for at least four games, while Natan Bernardo de Souza is also out with an injury from the latest game and could see the Brazilian miss the trip to Osasuna after the international break.
Meanwhile, two other centre-backs, Marc Bartra and Noble Mendy, are also struggling with physical issues, so Switzerland left-back Ricardo Rodriguez ยูฟ่าเบท may have to play as a centre-back if needed.
